ST. PAUL, Minn., July 30, 2020—The political action arm of Minnesota’s most influential small-business association today endorsed state Rep. Jeremy Munson for re-election to his
District 23B House seat.

Speaking for the NFIB Minnesota PAC, which made the endorsement, Mike Hickey, NFIB’s Minnesota state director said, “Rep. Munson has cast many critical votes for small business and has truly shown his level of appreciation for the contributions that our members make to Minnesota’s economy. He understands that small business is the lifeblood of Minnesota’s economy and has consistently supported the men and women of the small-business community.”

He has been a real watchdog for small business and a voice for restraint, opposing several negative bills that were passed in the Minnesota House that were detrimental for small
business. They included:
• A massive 70% increase in the state’s gas tax

• A large and unjustifiable $3 billion tax increase while the state was running a $1 billion surplus

• Opposed an excessively expensive new $1 billion paid family leave program that placed a new tax on every employer and worker in the state

“He has been a true ally for the small-business community,” said Hickey, and we are urging business owners and constituents in District 23B to vote for him in the August 11th primary election.”

The endorsement of Munson by the NFIB Minnesota PAC is based on positions taken on key small-business issues, including taxes labor and regulatory issues.

For more than 77 years, NFIB has been advocating on behalf of America’s small and independent business owners, both in Washington, D.C., and in all 50 state capitals. NFIB is onprofit, nonpartisan, and memberdriven association. Since our founding in 1943, NFIB has been exclusively dedicated to small and independent businesses and remains so today. ST. PAUL, Minn., August 20, 2018—The political action arm of Minnesota’s most influential small business association today enthusiastically endorsed state Rep. Jeremy Munson for re-election to his District 23B House seat.

During his short tenure in the House, he voted for major tax reform and reduction legislation that was not only beneficial to small business, but also contained critical tax conformity provisions to help all tax payers conform to the new federal tax law, which was disappointingly vetoed by Governor Dayton. “He also scored a perfect 100 percent on NFIB’s candidate questionnaire,” said Mike Hickey, NFIB’s Minnesota state director, speaking for NFIB Minnesota PAC, which made the endorsement.

“In a high-tax state with a business climate that’s less than desirable, his voice is really needed in St. Paul.” As a small-business owner and business consultant, Munson, who lives in Lake Crystal, brings valuable firsthand knowledge on the engine of Minnesota’s economy to St. Paul, according to Hickey.

“He supports small business on many key issues, including financing state government within its current resources, conforming to or significantly increasing Minnesota’s estate tax exemption so it is much closer to the federal government’s, and significantly reducing business property taxes for small businesses,” said Hickey.

2020 - I am proud to be the ONLY candidate in my race endorsed by Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life - MCCL. Whether we debate life of the unborn, assisted suicide, or the State's reckless behavior towards nursing home residents, I will support the sanctity of life and have a 100% voting record to back it up.

LEA highlights legislative accomplishments, abdications; announces honorees.
St. Paul, MN, September 30, 2020 -- Legislative Evaluation Assembly of Minnesota (LEA) is releasing
its evaluation of the Minnesota legislature’s extraordinary 2020 sessions. The 2020 LEA report
highlights key legislative decisions, from the measures quickly taken in the first days of the pandemic,
to the belated confirmation vote taken on a troublesome cabinet member during the third special
session. LEA notes a shift in perceptions of government’s proper role. “Government’s function should
be limited to protecting our rights and our freedoms while we otherwise go about our business. “ says
LEA president Don Lee. “In 2020, limited government was almost abandoned amidst efforts to impose
arbitrary government responses to announced crises."
A few legislators stood against this overreach and abdication of legislative responsibility. We salute
these few by naming them as honorees in our report.
Seventeen House floor votes and sixteen Senate floor votes, with impact on important principles in
lawmaking, are summarized in the 2020 LEA Report. They deal with topics such as the legislature’s
response to the COVID-19 pandemic and to the Governor’s executive orders and emergency
declarations. Diverse issues such as the 2nd amendment, tobacco legislation, cosmetology regulation,
racism, drug policy and police reform are also covered.
2020 Honorees: Representatives Cal Bahr, Steve Drazkowski, Eric Lucero, and Jeremy Munson. (No
Senate honorees.)
Honorable Mention: Representatives Steve Green, Matt Grossell, John Heinrich, Josh Heintzeman,
Jerry Hertaus, Shane Mekeland, Jim Nash and Anne Neu.
LEA will mail a 2020 report to supporters in the next few days. The report can also be downloaded from
the LEA website at http://lea-mn.org. Legislative honorees and other speakers are featured at an
annual awards banquet. Membership dues for LEA are only $10 per year.
About the LEA:
Established in 1972, the Legislative Evaluation Assembly of Minnesota (LEA) is a non-partisan and
non-profit organization, established to inform the citizens of Minnesota of both important legislation and
the voting performance of each Minnesota state legislator. LEA bases its evaluation on America’s
declared founding principles of self-evident truths and inalienable rights. These principles provide a
basis for a constitutionally limited government established to protect life, liberty, justice, property rights
and free enterprise. LEA encourages the use of the material in its Reports, in whole or in part, with
attribution, by any group or individual.

Minnesota Chamber Leadership Fund PAC endorses Jeremy Munson for Minnesota House

ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Leadership Fund PAC endorsed Jeremy Munson for the Minnesota House in the Nov. 6 general election.
“It’s important to help elect individuals who understand the needs of employers in Minnesota – from competitive taxes and workforce needs to health care costs and transportation investments,” said Laura Bordelon, treasurer of the Leadership Fund PAC.

“Jeremy understands what it takes to grow Minnesota in today’s changing economy, and our PAC’s endorsement recognizes his strengths to work on behalf of Minnesota employers and employees.”

“Jeremy is committed to strengthening the business environment to improve the lives of all Minnesotans. A vote for Jeremy is a vote for a brighter economic future for residents of House District 23B and for Minnesota.”

The Leadership Fund PAC Board uses specific criteria to determine its endorsements including responses to its candidate questionnaire, leadership on key business issues, and voting records of incumbent candidates.

The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Leadership Fund PAC represents supporters from across Minnesota organized to promote the election of pro-business, pro-jobs candidates to offices in Minnesota state government.

I am proud to be endorsed by the Minnesota Farm Bureau State PAC. I believe farmers are great stewards of the land and should be allowed the freedom to farm without burdensome regulations or stressful governmental uncertainties. Agriculture is a vital driver of our rural economy and I will continue to be a strong voice for our district in St. Paul.

I am proud to be endorsed by Housing First Minnesota, an organization which shares my goal for affordable housing in Minnesota. The housing industry fuels our local economies and provides great paying construction and carpentry jobs. I will continue to leverage my 22 years of experience in the housing industry to ensure we reduce the amount of burdensome regulations which have added so much to the cost of housing and puts Minnesota at a competitive disadvantage to our neighboring States.

2020 - I am proud to be the only NRA endorsed candidate in this race and this endorsement is based on my proven voting record to advance gun rights in Minnesota.

These past two years, while in the minority, I successfully fought back against the proposed red flag laws by taking the fight to the Counties and started the 2nd Amendment Sanctuary County movement in Minnesota - we now have 9 counties who have passed resolutions or ordinances to not enforce these unconstitutional laws in their counties.

I am also chief author of a bill which effectively bans "gun free zones" in Minnesota by requiring the owner of a property which bans guns to protect people who must give up their guns.

I co-authored constitutional carry, stand your ground, and lifetime carry legislation. I worked to bring these to the House floor for a roll call vote for the first time and have a 100% voting record.

I also co-authored a constitutional amendment to add 2nd Amendment language to our State's Constitution.

The right to bear arms, and the right to self-defense, is absolute and shall not be infringed.

2018 - Thank you to the NRA – National Rifle Association of America Political Victory Fund for your strong endorsement of my campaign and providing me with an ‘A’ rating for “being a solid pro-gun/pro-hunting candidate who is an advocate for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.”

I will continue to honor my oath to uphold our State and Federal Constitutions, and to the strict limits placed on the role of government.

The Taxpayers League of Minnesota is pleased to announce our enthusiastic endorsement of Representative Jeremy Munson in the Primary election on August 11, 2020. For over 20 years the Taxpayers League has sought to hold the line on government growth and state spending. Representative Munson is a staunch fiscal conservative and has the courage to stand up against the go-along, get along crowd in St. Paul. In three short years in office, he has managed to accomplish common-sense consumer reforms and fought for important fiscal reforms. With his small business background, he understands the current plight of business owners across our State and knows we must allow business to function with precautions during the COVID crisis. As the State faces a major budget crisis, now more than ever we must HOLD THE LINE ON TAXES. We believe Representative Munson is the person to achieve that goal!
